Uranus was a Greek god and the father of many many gods and goddesses. Uranus was grandfather to Zeus. Uranus embraced his mother, Gaia sexually repeatedly and Gaia gave birth to many children, some were beautiful but others were monstrous. Basically the story of Uranus is typical of the imaginative nonsense that filled Bronze Age, Iron Age and later mythology and present day Religious Fundamentalism is just as silly.

A planet was named after Uranus. [1] [2]
